American Milsim Games
Labor Day
Over 600 players ascended on Playas over Labor Day weekend for the 10th Annual Copperhead Event produced by American Milsim, a leader in military simulation games across the US. The company was founded by devoted players of the sport with a wealth of experience creating a fast-paced, competitive, and intense MilSim Airsoft experience. Since its inception, the company has continued to stick to its values and commitment to ensure each event is delivered with the best MilSim experience. MilSim refers to live-acted simulation of armed conflict scenarios conducted by civilians for entertainment, sporting, or nostalgic purposes. Each event has specific objectives for teams to accomplish through tactics and marksmanship. MilSim games are similar to airsoft or paintball, but focus on authenticity to real-world military doctrines.

The Rusty's Grill hosted the inaugural "Bootheel Music Festival" featuring local bands, food trucks, vendors, and family activities, that livened the community spirit.
Sounds of Healing
September
Hidalgo Hope and Healing hosted Sounds of Healing (Sonidos de Sanacion) the annual Mariachi Festival held at North Park, primarily to support Hidalgo County cancer patients and their families, featuring live music, food, and community fun.
Extortion 17 Run Memorial
August
New Mexico Tech-Playas Research and Training Center hosts the Extortion 17 Memorial Run for Hidalgo County in memory of the 31 fallen US warriors who paid the ultimate sacrifice in Afghanistan in 2011.

The Lordsburg Elks Lodge Hosts the annual Mud Volleyball Tournament at the Elks Lodge.

Lordsburg MainStreet hosts this annual event celebrating the town's railway heritage, typically held in early June at the Hidalgo County Fairgrounds, featuring vendors, food, and family fun.
Mordan Memorial Run

The Lordsburg Border Patrol Station hosts the annual Jordan Mordan Memorial Run in honor of fallen Border Patrol agents and New Mexico State Police officers.
Lordsburg Teen Maze
March
The Lordsburg Teen Maze life-sized interactive event hosted by local organizations to teach middle and high school students about the consequences of life choices, such as substance abuse, relationships, and risky behaviors through realistic scenarios in a fun, maze-like environment. The Teen Maze brings youth, adults, and community partners together to build a healthy future for local teens.

The Best of Hidalgo Awards is an annual event hosted by the Lordsburg-Hidalgo County Chamber of Commerce. The awards are presented to community nominees for Best Business, Citizen, Volunteer, Community Organization, and Chamber Member of the Year.
